The Topic Of God Is To Big For This Blog

"The idea of a personal God is quite alien to me and seems even naive. However, I am also not a "Freethinker" in the usual sense of the word because I find that this is in the main an attitude nourished exclusively by an opposition against naive superstition. My feeling is insofar religious as I am imbued with the consciousness of the insuffiency of the human mind to understand deeply the harmony of the Universe which we try to formulate as "laws of nature." It is this consciousness and humility I miss in the Freethinker mentality. Sincerely yours." Albert Einstein.

I agree with Einstein, not because he was such a legend and so smart, but rather because he often spoke such sense. If we as humans were smart enough to conclude that we only use a tiny portion of our brains, then surely we are smart enough to know that the topic of God is far to enormous in length, depth and width to explain.

Why do we find it so necessary to box everything, we put music in genres, people into class, race, creed and even star signs. I can't categorize you by these things! If I know every thing there is to know about you, I still can't say I'm any bit closer to knowing you, unless I can say that I've lived a day in your shoes. Which I obviously can't do.

That's the beauty of God, we can discuss him and all his levels and after an hour, day or year of talking we still wouldn't be any closer to knowing him, but we'd probably be a lot closer to understanding ourselves. It's in the humility of knowing our place, our insignificance in the great scheme of God that allows us to step fully into our potential.

Lets just try to swim in our existence and enjoy the pleasure of being alive, without simplifying everything. Enjoy being dazzled by the magic of each day. Enjoy the mystery, it's not important knowing how the cogs turn within the clock. Time is ticking and life will soon be over. Love, eat and be merry.

  1. Dear Rorz,
i believe that god is not someone 'on the other side' but an internal part of our very nature...it is the sum of all things! and our very creativity is a chance to be godly and create reality...

here is a quote i love:

For those who believe in God, most of the big questions are answered. But for those of us who can't readily accept the God formula, the big answers don't remain stone-written. We adjust to new conditions and discoveries. We are pliable. Love need not be a command or faith a dictum. I am my own God. We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us.
