I watch a documentary on Zim's 'forgotten children' and was horrified at what I saw. I know we all think we know what is becoming of the country once known as 'the jewel of Africa', but the harsh reality is that we don't. In fact I'm not sure we really care? It's so easy to have good intentions and yet still accomplish nothing.
I saw a 6 year old girl, loose her mother to aids after a year of nursing her herself and while looking after a 6month old baby. All the while this poor child called Esther was as sick as can be herself. It was clear to me that this girl wanted to die. She was hopelessly alive, just enough to get to the next day, but not enough to get up and defend herself.
I am angry!!! I am filled with rage, that a demon child like Mugabe could destroy a whole nation with greed and self righteousness. Let it be a lesson to us all, pride will blind you to the point of being a complete toss!
Lets all speak up about our neighbouring country and begin to make a sincere difference, or the mentality might effect our own nation and bring it to it's knees.

Be blessed today,

I haven't had the courage to watch it yet. Although I consider myself South African, I am bred and born in Zimbabwe and always spend time in Zim learning from the tenacious zimbabwean children. Where there is pain and suffering, they always seem to be able to give you a smile. We had the highest level of literacy in Africa, in Zimbabwe. Mugabe has destroyed more than our children's ability to read and write: he has taken away their ability to laugh and smile and just BE. But somewhere, somehow, these children will smile again. And that somewhere, that somehow, has to start with US, you and me.
